The Peter Barna Award, named after the Honorary President of the Union, Peter B. Barna, is to honour young researchers at the PhD level for outstanding accomplishments in the field of Thin Films, Surface Engineering and Surface Science presented as talks within the ICTF conference series of IUVSTA.
The spirit of this award is to increase the visibility of young researchers to the established scientists related to and participating in the ICTF conference series.
The prize consists in a certificate and a cash prize of EUR 200.
A maximum of two awards is granted within an ICTF conference.
